This website is designed to educate people about the Design & Building process and hopefully, help answer the two key questions above.   We plan to delve into construction-related articles in the future we are going to focus on the trilogy that exists between Design management,  Estimators and Procurement.

DESIGN MANAGEMENT
Good design gets the process rolling and sets the tone for the entire project. The state of the documents either promotes or reduces the chances of variations. Fewer variations mean less cost to the client and an easier relationship with the Design & building team. Click here to link to "Design Management Series"
BUILDING ESTIMATING
Estimators will price the Tender documents. Any items not on the documents will either be excluded or clarified away. Better the documents - fewer variables and sharper the price. PROCUREMENT
The tender documents are developed into Construction documents. The contracts team now has to manage the built process based on an older Estimating budget yet newer documents. Someone has to pay for any additional items in the development of the tender documents.
